Hope Snowdrift my Koolie

Aug. 2001 - discovered Hope at the Bendigo RSPCA and knew I had to have her.  I'd never seen a more beautiful dog!  She was listed as a Border Collie/Koolie and had been surrendered (don't know why).  She was 4 months old.  I Had never heard of Koolies before so read as many working dog books as I could find and found some photos but hardly any info.
Rejoined the Bendigo Obedience Dog Club, rapidly jumped through the classes and soon taught Hope agility.
HOPE'S FEARS; applauding, cameras aimed at her, fly swats, vacuum cleaners and large, hulking men!
HOPE'S FAVORITE THINGS; duck herding, swimming, playing with bees, obsessively retrieving anything thrown, guinea-pig watching, playing with Fox, eating, cuddles and training.

HOPE'S TITLES; 'Hope Snowdrift CD - ADX - JD - FD'  These are her Companion dog - Agility dog excellent - Jumping dog - and Flyball dog titles the letters  will now appear after her name on her registration papers.

Hopes best friend Fox Blackstar my Kelpie

March 2003 - Fox was picked up as a stray and brought to the shelter.  He niggled at me until I said I would take him. He was approx. 10-12 months old, with a dull, dry coat and very skinny; every bone could clearly be seen.  He had a quiet, gentle personality and was overwhelmed by shelter noise and conditions, spending most of the time sitting on his bed, facing the wall, with his face pressed into the corner.
I named him Fox because of his beautiful, big ears and the way he uses them to pin-point insects and skinks moving under grass, before pouncing - like a desert fox!
I brought him home.  He was quickly house trained and very eager to learn.  Had never been on a leash before, thinking each time I clipped it on he was tied up and couldn't move.  He was very unsure about everything, must have led a very sheltered life before.  Very insecure and clingy.
Got on really well with Hope.
I taught him obedience and agility and began to compete in trials, where I met Kerrie Challenger who told me about the Koolie Club.  Attended meetings joined and learnt more.
2004 - began training both Hope and Fox for Flyball; hope to compete in first comp. by the end of this year.
FOX'S FEARS; thunder, large, dark colored dominant male dogs, insect sprays, slapping, waving or swatting at insects and being picked up.
FOX'S FAVORITE THINGS; training, trialing, cuddles, squeaky toys, cloth Frisbee killing, retrieving, playing with Hope, learning new things, flyball and sheep!
FOX'S TITLES; 'Fox Blackstar JD - CD -AD This means Fox has gained his Jumping dog - Companion dog - and Agility dog titles, the letters will appear after his name on his registration papers
