Welcome to Melissah and Alans page for Brescot working Koolies.

We are a working 9,000 acre Cattle-(Black Angus) and sheep-(Cross bred) property with hard Trap Rock country near Ashford, NSW Australia.

Brescots foundation bitch was bred by a Mr knife (Texas, Qld) from red and blue merle Koolies.

She has now passed on, but her daughter Dusty (red Merle) is our main girl, her picture is above right.

We have three generations from Dusty, working.

We have recently introduced bloodlines from Hunterslea and Wilja working Koolies from Nsw.



Our Koolies work long hours on stock and much is expected of them!

            They are very strong on the cattle, and will block and use force only when necessary, they will drive them out of dams as well as places we can not get too. As most know Black Angus are hard cattle to muster. They continually test the dogs ability to keep them in line!



Our dogs do not touch the sheep when they muster and like most good Koolies adjust themselves to what stock they are mustering at the time!

We are happy for anyone to visit us and see the dogs at work!

All our dogs love to be fussed over and visitors always get the “pat me” treatment

We have sold pups mostly for working but know that Koolies are excellent for obedience as well as an active family pet

Our lines are bred for calm temperaments .We have back in the lines Kelpie and Smithfield (stumpy Tailed ) as we have always bred for working abilities for our own needs, We now prefer to breed only Koolie to Koolie!



Brescot Koolies are bred for working and from bloodlines that excel in that ability.

We chose Hunterslea and Wilja Koolies because they are members of the Koolie Club of Australia and each in their own right has a lifetime of breeding, are well into their older age and have years of experience in this breed.
